Broad peaks with a manual injection

If you notice peaks are much broader when using the manual injector vs. the autosampler, please ensure the autosampler’s valve is set to the LOAD position.  Since the manual injector is placed ahead of the autosampler, the sample will pass through the autosampler's valve before reaching the column and the sample segment will be broaden in the line. If the valve is not set correctly, the sample will be spread out by going through the larger diameter tubing of a typical sample loop.  By setting the valve to LOAD, the sample will bypass the sample loop.
