Salt build up around the electrochemical detector cell

Salt buildup around the electrochemical detector cell (the chamber that holds the working electrode) is most likely caused by a leak while running mobile phase.  This can be due to either the handle lock not fully engaged while running mobile phase, or a problem with the gasket.  A gasket is quite fragile, thus it doesn't take much to require replacement. Any wrinkles or rips can cause leaking to occur.  Thus, it should be inspected each time it is opened.

Replacement gaskets can be purchased on our website or over the phone.
