The LED fiber optic implants are shipped with caps to protect the 3 pin connector. A drop of hot glue can also be used to protect the pins. Make the drop just large enough to cover the pins, not enough to drip down the sides of the LED. If you first wipe the pins with a little cooking spray oil as a release agent the glue will come off fairly easily later on. These caps can be made at the end of the surgery, or ahead of time and removed while the LED implant is attached to the stereotaxic adapter. The caps can be reused.
